I am reaching out
to my fellow Nevadans for contributions to help continue a worthy
and patriotic endeavor.
When we
began construction of the Memorial Wall in early 2004, the total
casualties were far less. The mobile Wall has 544 names of fallen heroes
on it. We have exhibited the Wall statewide, winning first place both at
the Carson City Nevada Day parade and the Summerlin 4th of July parade.
I was honored to be the Grand Marshal for the Beatty Centennial, and by
the Mayor‘s request, brought the Wall to Mesquite for their annual
parade. The Wall was the featured float of the 50th annual
Veterans Day parade in Las Vegas. The Memorial Wall(s) will
participate in many other patriotic parades and memorial services
throughout the communities of Nevada.

I did not budget for
the ongoing expenses transporting and updating the Wall. The total expenses are
in the tens of thousands of dollars. War casualties have tripled and I must
build two more walls; and unfortunately our casualties continue to rise. I have
committed the Memorial Wall(s) to future Nevada war casualties and veterans
memorial events. I need your financial support to continue this memorial
project.
I cannot express to you the gratitude I have received
from the families, their friends and community leaders when the Memorial Wall is
present to honor these Nevada Heroes at their somber military memorial services.
It is a reverent, stark reminder to everyone the reality of this war and the
toll on loved ones. It is a very moving experience. I served as a
Medivac Flight Surgeon/Paratrooper in Vietnam with over 100 combat missions
treating and evacuating our wounded; receiving a Bronze Star, five Air Medals,
one for Valor. WAR IS HELL. I know first hand the tragedy and the grief of the
families and loved ones of these HEROES.
